In one of my websites there is a list of links formatted as text, and I’ve come across an obstacle where every time I add a new link in the middle of this list, it moves the url which initially belongs to one line of text onto the next line of text and so on, essentially shoving all the links a place down.
So say I have a list of text already linking to YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and Tumblr (in that order), the moment I add say TikTok between YouTube and Instagram, because I added a new line it will shove all the urls down to the next item in the list. So the link for instagram will go to the text saying twitter and the link for twitter moves up to the text saying tumblr. This also leaves the text for instagram without a link and completely erases any trace of a link to tumblr.
Constantly editing this becomes rather tedious, especially considering I have a list of 20+ links. However I’ve found the issue only occurs the first time after editing a published draft. So when I manually move all. the links to the right text, the issue won’t occur anymore if I play the same scenario of putting a new link in the middle of the list. The unpublished draft won’t move the links, only when editing the published version.
Even though it is a minor problem I’ve come across and I am yet to discover anyone else with this issue, it is rather time consuming just to put everything back in order and ideally I wouldn’t have to concern myself with it. If somebody could please look further into this and let me know if it’s fixable? I’d quite appreciate that.
